. I am planning on immigrating to Canada by applying for PR and I do not have any contact in Canada. Hence i am finding people through Online. I have few confusions, it would be helpful for me if you clear these doubts-
1. I am from Bangalore, India and a software developer with 4.5 yrs experience working in a product based company. I mainly work on Java based technologies. Since you have good knowledge in this area I wanted to know how are the job opportunities in Toronto for my profile.
2. Also I am bit tensed about moving to Toronto as many people tell that getting the first job in Canada is pretty difficult and may require few months to land a job.
3. I wish to migrate for new experiences in life and also in the hopes of better pay. Will moving to Canada be a good choice for these purposes?
4. Also I am a bit confused to apply for Canada or Australia as I have good chances for PR in both the countries.
Please share your thoughts on this
I would appreciate a lot and it would be of great help for me if you could provide me with suggestions and share your thoughts.
Thanks,
Vivek

To get a feel of the job market, start looking at Workopolis, Monster, Indeed and LinkedIn for GTA jobs.
In my social circle, there are around 18 - 20 IT professionals. They are almost equally divided into 3 major areas - Technical, BA, and PM. The jobs in the pure technical area are shrinking - mostly outsourcing to China and India. the new technologies like cloud computing, AI, Machine Learning etc have brighter aspects. Be prepared to keep on upgrading all the time if you want to stay ahead of the crowd.
When you decide between Canada and Australia, consider the cost of living, quality of life and salary in your profession. One known person went to Australia, a few months back, to explore the possibility of moving over and comes up with few observations like visible racial discrimination, higher cost of living, comparatively lower infrastructure (smaller roads, smaller houses etc). If you are moving out of India first time, these factors may not bother you much. Take a well-informed decision and you won't regret.

A Delhite in Toronto
Canada cost of living in GTA ( Toronto ) & GVR ( Vancouver ) has become a Joke ! Especially House prices & Car insurance & Day care costs.
Montreal is still cheaper - but you need French ( Bilingual ) if you don't want to be discriminated against.
The rest of the cities like Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa ( although Ottawa is not that bad ) are not worth mentioning.
Canada is basically a frozen country with not much there besides - the Big 3 - Vancouver, Toronto & Montreal.
