Look for the PDF document on Basics of

Hard Wired system gets installed by a Technician and might require his services if repairs are needed to fix it. So decide upon your choice of items prior to getting it installed. I would surely go for the Night Vision Cameras.Technology is advancing so fast hence you decide upon what is the highest level of equipment that you want to invest now and then stay put. I would surely go for the Night Vision Cameras.

Here is a list of materials attached for your perusal and also the wholesalers price list in the Links provided under this. If you are a DIY and can do it all by yourself, then it will cost you pretty near the COST price. It is time to decide for your self.

So you be the judge. Look before you jump into it.,

I was at the Costco sales and there are a few on display. Go and take a look. There is help available there for you too, to ask questions and get all of the answers to it. The products could be different from location to location, so I will refrain from commenting on the displayed product.

My 2 cents, i would suggest steering clear of these aliexress or Chinese made cameras for the time being till they update the firmware / hardware on the camera.

Recently there was a mirai botnet attack and this mirai botnet converted most of these cameras into zombie and used it to launch this massive attack.

Pricewise these cameras r very tempting but some of them to save cost, lack necessary firmware and hardware technology to encrypt data.

If your camera or IOT device is used to launch this type of attack then your ISP will suspend your internet till you fix the issue.

If you are thinking of internet based system for monitoring etc., it holds good.

Some of the systems that I saw were CLOSED LOOP systems. They are self contained. Some even have their own back up with storages to take care of your day to day recordings. the ones that I saw were 10 day/weekly reloading and retrieval system.

Some of the Cameras which are new, and fall in the wireless category has a base perched on the roof top. It is color coded to blend in with the surroundings. They are drop ins into the BASE, remotely with a cherry picker. The angle of viewing can be set before placement. Not knowing the distance that it has to scan and record, the CMOS system provides the focusing etc., with a few feet up front focusing and extends to Infinity. The technology is good. The one I saw was NOT night Vision. So, I dropped it.

May be you can provide me with some more information on the internet based systems. I am currently using the LOCAL Recording and storage. No Broadcast.

Thanks in advance.

FH.

regarding the internet based camera, if you want stability, security, ease of configuration, cloud recording etc then I suggest wait till next June or July because this space is still evolving, many established companies are coming out with the camera such as ring , nest , amazon , skybell , netgear etc and the price is still on a higher side

my guess is if competition increases then price should fall by 20 to 30 % by the next June or July
