But your initial one time expense for buying furniture, bed, mattress, TV , dining table, coffee table will be higher. Budget $ 5,000 at least for that.

$ 2,000 - $ 2,500 per month will include 1 BHK Rental apartment, Groceries, Simple Clothing/shoes/jacket ( Not brand name ), Public Transport - Bus & Train ( No private car ), Cable, Internet, Cell Phone. Some entertainment, but not much like eating out once a month or watching a movie once a month or some nearby local attraction like Niagara Falls once a month.

The best time is NOW in summer ! Come here alone, see whether you like it or not, and then get your family here by November 30 . Would not advice you to come with a 3 year old kid & wife initially. You can always go back, when you don't or can't find a job. You will save your wife & kids expense that way.

Try to settle down and find a job in your line/profession ( very very very hard if you are an immigrant & almost impossible ).

Nowadays even low level survival minimum wage jobs are hard to find if you are an immigrant. Earlier immigrants used to do these jobs, but now White kids do these jobs for pocket money or for paying their College & University fees. So you will be competing with White kids between the age of 16-25 for these survival jobs.

First 90 days there is no medical insurance, so god forbid something happens to your 3 year old. You will have to buy private medical insurance for the first 3 months as Canada won't cover you.

Thank you!

If you have a friend/relative then they could sign up as a guarantor for the apartment. Those will have one year leases. Some apartments or basements may be willing to go in on month to month basis.

Try to get most of your winter clothes in Canada.

Thank you!

this is the best time to land. cold starts from nov and lasts till march.

let your husband conserve mobey. he can eat in soup kitchens and get free rations from the food bank.

you should target $ 1000 per montn budget for your husband should he land alone and $2000 per month for both of you.

you can use furniture that has been put in garbage or buy in second sales.

if you donot have a person to guide uou, you will lose 3 months tryibg to figure things out.

you 3 year old son will get $ 450 per month from the govt to take care of your expenses. so that is an income. childcare costs can range from $ 800 to $ 1200 per month for your son, if you also start working.
