Hello Guys,
Looking for your opinion, will it be wise move.
Currently I am living in town house in Markham and planning to move in a bigger detach house. Prices in Markham are really high and houses are really hard to afford. My current house value is form 700K - 750K. I am living in this house from about 15 years and have small amount of debit on it. I am planning to sell this house and purchase bigger house in Ajax area.
What you guys suggest, is it good move. How the Ajax area, schooling , community or stay in Markham. Few people suggest me that Ajax is blue collar area whereas Markham has good community and white collar peoples lives here. What Ajax area is good to live with a family of 14 and 7 years old kids.
I am just confuse and looking for some sincere suggestions.
Thanks
Aurn
If TOWN HOUSE that you are living in is currently valued in the 750's SELL AND GET OUT immediately. Buy a Single family large lot house valued in a MILLION Bucks or over and take a PLUNGE. You will come up winning BIG.
But don't go towards AJAX, go towards Richmond Hill or closer to MACK and Avenue or there about. there are good schools and a Temple too. It will be a very good Move.
GO FOR IT. Month of May is the Last. You got to be in your next Before the labour day.
FH.

Thanks Full House for the advise, I will do some research on Richmond Hill area and will try to buy home ASAP. thanks again.
If you are in Markham, why are you moving to RichmondHill? The schools are only marginally better in RH; also the house prices are higher due t proximity to hwy 404. Why not stay in Markham and upgrade to a bigger house? Only move to Ajax, if you want to upgrade to a bigger house and you dont want to pay the house prices in Markham.

No price point increases or Market timing. But you do get a good selection starting the month of May.
Historically 1st of May was the DAY of Moving. That was long long time ago and most of the farmers still hang onto that practice. I will give you a little bit of statistics that i have collected and it is for those who are south of the border. Use it to your advantage. But these publications are always after the fact and also from a few years ago. So be guided by that.
I see the days are getting longer here in Ontario. March is just about getting over and I have started to plan a few things myself.
Most of the moves are after the school closing. So, selection, viewing, purchase and closing and the rest all has to happen and get fixed. A few will always wait to sell and then move. So, there is no fixed month like May to do just that.
With this current Housing market, which is on fire, the earlier you get to do it, the faster you also get to plan and settle down in your place.
I sold mine end of May and moved in during the end of july. It was a nail biter and tiring.

Hey FH, can you please elaborate a bit more on this statement? Are you expecting the prices to fall post May? Thanks.
