i am suffering from mild periodontal disease. My dentist is asking me to go for Scaling and Root planing. Few people are advising me to do it in India as i am going on vacation after 3 months. Here i in Canada they say the hygienists make the situation worse to get them more business.

Who gave you such and idea? If they do it Canada, then people will say that since India is more corrupt than Canada, they might be removing your kidneys when you go for Scaling and root planning.
It all depends on money. Do you have health insurance from your employer? If so, get a budget. How long will you be on liquid diet once the operation is done etc..
India is good and cheap for all these kind of operations. From your relatives, get the contact of a good doctor and start communicating with his office from here itself.
I would recommend India, if you have the time. Don't think also that Indian doctors are 100 % good. Some bad apples are here too. That is why you need a reference of a doctor in India.

Then contact a Canadian dental specialist and see how much is coming out of your pocket and then decide.
Canadian dental doctors are the best since they are not part of the public system and hence service is good.
