Dear friends, got a quick question,...travelling on Egypt airlines,...will my laptop be considered a hand carry item ! I have checked their baggage allowance which says for an adult one can carry two pieces (23 kg each) as checked in luggage and one 8 kg hand carry bag. Please advise if I can carry the lap top other than one allowed hand carry bag. Thanks.

In most cases, laptops are considered hand baggage. Whether or not the airlines would allow one carry on plus another bag containing a laptop is up to the airlines. You might want to check with the airlines.
In any case, please do not check-in the laptop. Who knows in what shape or condition you'll get it back.

I went to their website. You will see the link under this. They are very specific. They say ONE item 8 kg and I am sure it will weigh close to that weight.
They also say that CARD holders get additional baggage allowance. You will have to call them and find out more about their card and what are all the additional previleges offered to the holders of such a card?!
It may be well worth it.

Thanks FH, I am not a card holder hence no special privileges. I have already boarded and lap top has been considered as one of the hand carries. I am done, no issues.
