I got a new job and my company offered me health plan. they pay $60 and i have to pay $50 every month. I dont have any medical problem. I am not willing to spend $50 every month as i never took any medication in the past 10 years. so you think my decision not to join the health plan is wise?

SUCCESS IS NOT A DESTINATION, BUT A JOURNEY...............
Dude,
Nothing is sure in Canada and due to extreme conditions (too hot or too cold), I would suggest you to take the plan after understanding what you are eligible.
My employer health plan in 2008, asked me to pay $ 60 a month with the employer paying $ 240 a month. So I am not sure what kind of plan you are getting for $ 110 a month.
Give us the plan details and we can advise you better.
What the plan should at least include is :
1. Dental
2. Prescription medicine reimbursement
3. Some sort of accident coverage.
4. Opthomology (opt)

Uday unless you are curious case of Benzamin button , with growing age you will need medical insurance for sure. Do not avoid it. It got nothing to do with your past healthy 10 yrs. Its for next one. More so when you have such discussions , of not contributing 50$ towards mandatory insurance, with HR in your accent, it will be laughable for sure. Do you know a visiting fee to a dentist ? Please do not 'brush' it aside, Have mercy on thyself.
.
Consider yourself lucky that you being offered a health plan by your company
I agree with others. Go for it when you start, you can always cancel it at a later time. For 50 dollars out of pocket, I would keep it.
