Does anyone know of a property management company in India who can manage the property or a flat while vacant in case of emergencies ? A couple of us have our parents with us and need someone who can take care of the flats while they are away.

Each State will have a few hundred Property Management Companies. Some are not even listed, but are well known there locally and they take care for others at the cost of a small fee.

So, if you need services in a particular State and you also have specific needs, please re phrase it in a proper manner for people to respond.

You may even find someone who will do it on a reciprocal basis. Look for such an arrangement also.

The flats are in Maharashtra area. Only emergency services are needed e.g. if there is a flood or leakage related issue. I could not find this list so far so if you can lead me to that it would help. Thanks.

I did find a few of the Property Management companies in the yellow pages there in the major cities of Maharashtra. They all are in this business, but doing the rentals and expect a month's rent to manage, and they do a viety of chores and charge you maintenance fees on top of the one month's rental fees that they charge.

I did come across an individual's name. He runs between Two of the States and I do not have a Phone number that works. His web site does not provide any links to him.

Your requirement is very specific and you should find a co-worker, a local plumber or an electrician, who can visit as per your requirements and report back to you on a timely basis, is what you need. I do not know for how long and if you will pay him 10,000 rupees for that. As a suggestion. try some one in a Bank or a Trust to drop in and check it for you. ( for a fee per visit)

Hi Fullhouse, indeed you are right there it may not be worth the deal paying someone that much a month for what my needs are so this is worth it really if we plan to rent it out. I checked some of the companies and that is what they charge per month. We are not planning to rent it out for now as we are not sure of the tenancy laws and they are really weird in most states.

Probably a good idea what you suggested a local plumber or electrician or even someone from the bank etc. The thing is leaving the keys with someone can be tricky so it has to be someone you can really trust to not indulge in illegal activities.

But we will look into this and the link.

All I need for now is for a company to do a quarterly cleaning and keep the keys in case access is needed for emergency reasons. So I plan to look for a small company who can do that and yet not engage in any illegal/fraudulent activities. Leaving the keys with someone can be dangerous and we know that but for now we have no choice.
