It seems like a flourishing business. The guy is coming tomorrow morning to do the job.
In last few days I have learned quite a bit about this subject. I climbed up the roof with the guy who did inspection. Fortunately, there is not much damage done. Only one side soffit was broken. He will instal a one way door tomorrow and come back in 3 days. By then, raccoon should have left. He will put mesh on both sides soffit for future prevention.
Hopefully, it should be all good.

Excellent! brave lady! now you can be a consultant. Make sure that your husband is aware of one way door!
If I were you I would call a local home inspector & explain the situation (maybe one with whom you inspected the house whey you bought it). Maybe he can come and take a look. Also after that he can provide you local low cost guys to come and fix it....
Nothing wrong in paying low fees for same service, if the guys don't have a big office expenditure to cover from the fees !!!

CAN-DE, I don't think home inspector can be of any help in this situation other than he can recommend someone IF he knows anyone to do the job. Raccoons can attack anyone's house.
The update is that one-way door has been installed and the guy will come in 3 days to take it off and fix everything.
