There was this peculiar situation where even as the Head of China was in India, there were reports of border incursions in Ladakh.
Even in 1950s China spoke about Panch Sheel but in action gobbled Tibet. Nehru was cheated and died heartbroken. After his death, the western news media said it was India's China war. Nehru was not alive to explain his version.
But there was no necessity for India to indulge in "Swing Diplomacy". XI is exploiting our "Athithi Devo Bava" sentiment. It is 2014 and India should have hit hard and wiped out a few hundreds of the infiltrators along with the camps they set up inside our border. He would have abandoned his 3 day visit in half a day and ran back. India lost a good opportunity to bring to attention of the international community, China's kleptomania behaviour of stealing neighbouring countries' territory.

An old thread but still relevant at present time. Wondering when the others will start banning cheap Chinese stuff like the Chinese fire crackers are banned in Delhi. Boycott of Chinese stuff is a step which an ordinary indian can take to put a dent on Chinese economy.

They will, but China is the manufacturer of the world right now. So the impact will be minimal. But the anti China sentiment is building up like crazy..
I can see it first hand from Mumbai.

Boycotting Chinese is all well & good, but first try to create infrastructure, manufacturing capacity, electricity ( which can support all these factories ), no political interference, no red tape, no bureaucracy , no hooliganism in workers Unions in India to produce all these goods & services for a reasonable prices and quality.
Just boycotting is not good enough. No one is going to buy a Rs. 300 Indian product, when the same product is for Rs. 100 Chinese. Indians are cheap people, they will always look at the price and bargain before buying anything.
