I know the bleeding heart kind of liberals are senseless and most close minded people. They get riled up quickly when any Muslim or other minority is involved. I post a link. Just watch it.

I do not see any prospects of joker Katju and his ilks rushing to the defense of the "rationalist". These liberals are Janus faced scum who have double standards on all the issues. However, I must admit that they also represent overwhelming majority or else Obamas of the world would never get elected.

I would be interested if free speech crusaders would comment on the video link posted above

Sanal Edamaruku from the video has been wronged severely. There is no doubt about it. His case was not just freedom of speech, but much beyond that wherein he just identified the true reason for the "miracle". But the religious blind will not accept it and call it Blasphemy. That is utter foolishness and Sanal is paying the price. If the Govt, law enforcement and the religious fools hold any decency, they would allow this man to live freely.

Last night I heard a poet from Qatar has been jailed for life for speaking against the Emir. This is the same Emir that claims to pride himself on being moderate and tolerant on freedom of speech, yet, couldn't practice his preaching of freedom of speech when it involved him.

What're you expecting to hear? That this is ok because it happened to a non minority?

This is as ridiculous as the BT incident and what happened to this guy is completely unfair. Two wrongs don't make a right though.

I thought I had made my point clear.

1. This joker Katju wrote a letter to punish a hapless Policeman. However, Katju would not speak when the issue involves obnoxious behavior by a minority community. The same rascal Katju never spoke about the ills of judiciary like corruption, delays and turning blind eyes to the crimes of politicians. However, he jumped in the fray when he thought that he can appease Muslims.

2. Pseudo secularists blasted police knowing fully well that police in India acts ONLY at the direction of politicians. Do you guys sincerely believe that a semi literate policeman would arrest a girl fotells me. r FB post without directions of his superiors who happen to be Kangress goons?

3. I absolutely believe that the girl was within her rights to post whatever she wrote on FB. It was Shiv sena people who acted foolishly. Right course of action was to flood twitter and FB with the posts about the virtuous past of her family, parents and relatives - whatever information they can gather. Resorting to physical threat was stupid.

4. I am strong believer in "common sense". For example, Had I felt about BT the same way as the girl, I would have still refrained from posting on internet, if my identity can be revealed. THat is what my "common sense" tells me. I am not Kejriwal nor I wish to be.

I am sure there will be people who would call me "coward" or "meek" but still common sense trumps stupidity, at least for me.

5. I know "freedom of speech" loving bleeding heart liberals are even more coward than me. At least I know my weakness but bleeding hearts lack conscious and their moral compass is directed to Mecca only. They cannot go in any other direction. Lol!

Could not resist re posting the Link , This incidence should not be easily forgotten and done away. All sensible religion followers, rationalist , liberals, activists, athiests, agnostics, gays and lesbians on CD must thank the poster 'nigthmare' for this initiative of highlighting this social notoriety which Indians are enduring. There are many sections like 295a which are unattended till date and must be discussed.

How revengeful and desperate some religious factions have become forgetting the values, that first they immdediatly buy a miracle of gutter water seepage to extent that the padre did not discourage gullibles to preserve the water from heysoos feet and sip it. When miracle got bit jagged and proved wrong, panicked, took help from a lawyer and lashed out on the rationalist in act of revenge. Humbleness , acceptance of truth and forgiveness is essence of a religion in theory but whenever any religion is questioned, instead of preaching, they act revengefuly to hurt a fellow human being who is trying to find the truth without acting blind !

Incase you want to see the dripping water, here it is , it was discussed on TV,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfJ6_ftih0s

There is some more material :
http://www.rationalistinternational.net/

Also history shows that more than the free speechists , the internals likes of dhongy babas, fake gurus, tantriks for money making motives, tricksters, talibs, mullah and pundits themselves blasphmed religion by their actions.
Surely some indians are stuck in sense that was common in 19th century and some are still centuries behind.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9taL2vcOJ0

We have union minsiters who are also tantriks !! Neta bhee hain aur jehar bhee utartey hain ! oh boy !
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nB7_yoCviLs
Guys like Sanal are surely doomed seeing such people in power. He will be surely sent to gallows.

We can understand the police, West Bengal and Central governments' action not to hurt the religious sentiments of the minorities lest it become a law and order problem that may lead to riots and death of innocent civilians. For a poor country like India with 1.2 billion population and poor police to population ratio it is difficult to maintain the fragile peace.
If what was done in Taslima’s case was unavoidable and necessary, the same can apply to the police officers action regarding the girls arrest for their comments following BT’s demise.

SO you are saying that since the girl was muslim , police action was justified ! for the reason that it would have caused communal disturbance !!
Hmm that logic makes the arrest of the muslim girl less tragic I suppose.
Then pls answer me
What If a north Indian hindu girl would have commented on FB ?
We know the answer that police would have still arrested the dame being non marathi but that arrest would have been little more tragic. right ?

What If a mumbaikar maratha monoosi girl would have commented like that ?? she would have been immune i suppose. no police action.

Anyway the fact is that a muslim girl commented, a hindu girl liked it, both were arrested. so your logic is as crap as police's action.

Just to make it clear , My viewpoint is girls were stupid not to understand power of social media in today's world. but their arrest was unlawful and not under perview of any written rule. In India, there is no written ruling on social media conduct till now except few lose ends in ITA-2008 or in cyber law.
All parties are wrong here ! excluding uncle of the girl who got ransacked. Poor soul may not have even a FB account ! but so must be the case with many shiv sainiks !!

All we say is apply the same yardstick, to everybody.

In this case the police action is justified, in the sense the so called "middle class" staying indoors immediately shut their computers and did not make any further distasteful comments.

Taslima Nasreen is not Indian Citizen unike the 2 mumbai girls, she is here on temp resident permit, after her exile from bangladesh and more importantly she had history with islamic kafirs who created unrest in Kolkata. After which Indian Govt actually shifted her to jaipur and then house arrest in Delhi to avoid unrest.

I appreciate you bringing up similar kind of religious fuk up in TN case , as in my views more we highlight such incidents more we know twisted reality behind a religion. Islam is itself killing its sanctity by such reactions. but TN case got so many factors and history which cannot be compared with these 2 young ladies. Police or govt action in TN can be justified with many reasonings but not where SS and police went berseck.

As we can see, there are two issues with regard to the incident of arresting the two girls.
One is police action and the other is about respecting the sentiments of a large group of people.

Regarding the first, in the context of the event happening in “Our Native Country” i.e., India, it appears to me that it is wholly justified.

Right from the ordinary citizen jumping the traffic signal to Afzal Guru, through bureaucrats, ministers and businessmen, everyone seems violating the law all the time. There hardly seems to be any punishment coming their way. But when action, if at all comes from the so called law enforcement agencies, there is a big outcry in the media. The media takes pride in interviewing the near and dear ones of terrorists who had slain many innocent people, and gives prominence to their sayings and charges that the terrorist in question was not given a fair trial, all he did was a buy a battery from the street corner shop etc.

That the terrorist did the same fully knowing that it was going to be a critical component to the belt bomb that will kill a former prime minister and dozen others along with him, was the reason that he was given death sentence by the learned judges right from the lower court to the Supreme Court, will cut no ice with the media or the so called human rights activists.

Regarding respecting the sentiments of a large group people, what is wrong in doing the same, especially when they are in a state of mourning.

Yes it is wrong, again in Our Native Country if that large group of people belong to sub-continent born religions. People will be branded as religious fanatics, majoritarianism etc., etc. The credit for the same should go to the media, which itself is infiltrated and filled with a quite a number of people who do not have any region, linguistic state or religion.

That those people who do not have any region, linguistic state or religion must mean that they should show allegiance to the best of everything from the mentioned sectors. Unfortunately, it is not so.

Mumbai seems to have become a haven for such people and the Late leader Bal Thackarey was not their best of friends.
