UFO sightings are routinely reported from many parts of the world except, perhaps, India. However, it seems that India too now qualifies to enter the league with UFO sightings in different parts of Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh being reported by not only teh Indian Army, but the scientific community as well. (Those interested can read the detailed article on this in my blog at: http://raju-thomas.com/ladakh-ufo-indian-army-photographed-ufo-over-himalayas-3/ ).
What could be behind these increased alien activities in different parts of the world lately? Do they have anything to do with the Mayan Calendar predicting the end of the world in December this year? Would the Desis like to comment?
"The yellowish spheres appear to lift off from the horizon on the Chinese side and slowly traverse the sky for three to five hours before disappearing."........................
<few paras later>.............."Chandratal, the only sacred lake in the Lahaul-Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh , has for long been steeped in mythology. Legend has it that the crescent-shaped pristine water body is an abode of fairies who descend on Earth on moonlit nights."

Maybe the Chinese have developed sophisticated spying mechanisms while the Indians are awed by mythology and fairies.

Why anything to do with UFO is always hazy, not clear and without solid proof ? Always ! Strangely UFO are never spotted by satelites & telescopes, or picked up on radios, never in the space or above the periphery of atmosphere, they are always found not so far from earth surface, just about where human vision ends !!
While I too am skeptical about UFO sightings , I find it difficult to shrug off the following as pure illusion, especially since those involved are scientists and they claim to have photographed the humanoid: "A five-member group of geologists and glaciologists led by Dr Anil Kulkarni of the ISRO’s Space Applications Centre in Ahmedabad were on a research trip through the barren Samudra Tapu Valley (12-km, eight-hour trek from Chandratal Lake). On September 27, 2004 they had filmed a four foot tall humanoid figure, that walked along the valley, 50 m away from them. The humanoid object then rapidly became airborne and disappeared. The encounter lasted 40 minutes."
Any civilization sufficently advanced, would know better than to come in contact with Homo sapiens.
I expect them to just pass by Earth in search of intelligent life.
While I find it hard to believe in Alien life, I found the concept in the latest movie "Prometheus" really interesting - more intriguing than a "God made us" or the "Darwin" theories.
