Thank you in advance
Any laptop is good as long as you like it. There are no major issues with Acer except that you canot resell it. In India, Acer is a top brand with a high resale value.
In 2010, Canadian Desi's recommended Toshiba, Hp, Dell and Compaq.
Peace

Hi ,
TK s comments are in line - if you like something , its worth it !
I am a sucker for money however - and feel that for general day to day computing dual core laptops with 2-4Gb memory are also sufficient ... Then core 2 duo is even better and i series are definitely the best but perhaps an overkill .
Walmart advertises 15.6 dual core LED laptops for 299/- from time to time. But the catch is - you have to be quick in order to get them .. Also FS website is also selling some 14" core 2 duo laptops for lesser ..... if you were to sort them from low to high price you d see ...
Acer is a good brand and I ve been using it for the past 6 years as one of my 4 laptops and have had no problem with it at all .......

Yeah agreed...most of the home based computers are used for surfing, watching youtube and some office stuff..so any latest configuration laptop is more than enough for these activities. With cheap LED smart TVs, various gaming consoles and advanced home networking capabilities you can watch videos and play the games on TV only.
Moreover old thumb rule is you need to replace the laptop every 3 years anyway as it gets outdated so spending more than $400 on any laptop really does not make sense. Unless you are one of "Shaukin". I have seen folks spending over $1500 on Sony and other laptops and I pity them. Unless you are big into programming, parallel processing and into heavy data mining, any cheap laptop would meet more than your need. So go for it high vision.
Resale??..I thought we were talking about laptops and not cars. I would not sale my laptop even if somebody pays more than my purchase price..and would not buy one even if someone is offering it for free. Too many privavcy issues.
Oh to answer your original question, it has decent configuration with all that is needed in there such as USB, memory slots and bunch of other stuff.
Just as a precaution, if you do not already have one, I would highly recommend to buy one of these...especially to store extra copies of your photos and home videos (ok any other videos as well).

Thank you everyone to have your inputs. So far I am kind a making up my mind to buy it. Before I buy last few questions for you guys.
Processor Speed - 1.4 GHz, is it enough?
Graphics Chipset - Intel HD 3000 - is this will be okay for watching movies, skype, etc. ?
Is graphics chipset is for gaming purpose?
And battery is 4 cell only, regular laptop has 6 cells and you can upgrades to 9 - any down-side of 4 cell laptop battery?
And finally how is the customer service and technical support of acer after buying product i.e. after sales-services?
