Hi All,
I am relocationg from Manitoba to GTA and have job in Mississauga, I need your suggestions please to make decision prior to buy house my questions:
1. Hows the community in Milton and Oakville.
2. Are Catholic schools good? and they allow non catholic students, my son will be going in Gr-9.
3.Any other area's to settle ? with good schools
4. My plan to buy house for max-450K
Thanks,
D
Dear D,
1. Both Milton and Oakville are good. Oakville is definetly more costly.
2. Catholic schools are considered equal or can be better depending on the neighnourhood. Secondary (grade 9 to 12) Catholic schools allow non-catholics. One thing many of us may like about the catholic schools is that they have a school uniform(dress). Right now there is debate goimg on in Ontario about merging the Public and Catholic school boards - may happen in the next couple of years- to save costs.
3. Mississauga is considered quite good. Some may consider areas like Vaughan having better schools (only marginally), but if you have job in Mississauga its not worth it.
4. What kind of house are you looking at? Difficult to find a good detached home below 450,000 in the GTA. Semi-detached and townhomes are quite good and affordable.
Hope this helps. Have a wonderfull Canada Day weekend.
