The congress played typical cunning/smart game.
1) Congress is happy because they picked him first. Sachin on their side may help a bit (if not a lot)
2) BCCI is happy that now at least Sachin will start thinking about retirement.
3) Some naysayers who want Eli Manning to be BR, will be happy because recommending Sachin for Bharat Ratna may go on backburner.
4) BJP, MNS and others now scartching their heads wondering how come we did not think about it earlier.
5) At least better to recommend a rich player than recommending cheapos such as A Raja, S Ramesh.
