My mother just received passport 2 months ago. Then she applied for visitor visa for Canada and she received it. She has booked the tickets for next week. Now she found out that there is a printing (typo) error in the passport. Instead of Female, it is printed Male. Yesterday she went to indian passport office to see if they would correct the mistake but they said that they will take the passport and issuse second one and it will take about a month and again new passport wont have visa. She is coming to help with my wife's pregenancy. My wife is due in 2 weeks. We dont have that much time. Now my question is ..would it be a big problem at airport ?? if she goes with all documents .?
In her visa it is "F" , she has all documents too. Any one has similar experience?
Please advise.

My mother was in exactly same situation . We came to know this mistake through Visa office . She applied for Canadian Visa through post . Visa was granted with a side note from visa officer to correct gender in PP . She never got it rectified and didnt had any issues while traveling to US or Canada .
Hope it helps a little .

The same gender discrepancy for my wife in her OCI book.
She has travelled to/fro from India without any problem.
