Dear Fellow Desi's
I am wondering how much could be saving $ after living 7 years in the GTA with a family of four 2 adults and 2 child’s?
I am planning to apply jobs in the Middle East or Alberta oil sands? I appreciate your feedback.
For a $ 45000 job you may be expected to save Nil to - $ 1000 a month.
For $ 60,000 job, you may break even.
Depends on a lot of conditions like where you want to stay, how you will use transit and if you will use the local food bank etc...
Peace

I am not taking food from Food Bank but I go to Indian restaurants. I thing I have asked a very hard question about saving. Thanks TK for your reply. My saving is less than 100k and would like to hear from fellow desi's. My relatives are in the Middle East and they complaining a lot about my savings and suggesting me to relocate to the Middle East or go back to India. I like Canada very much from other points of view? health care, living condition and school etc., especially I enjoy the summer.
It depends how much do you weight the savings in your life. If money saving is the only motive of your life - go for it.
I personally think about having a good balance of everything - some savings, some fun in life, some quality living, good social relations, some social security etc.
In the initial phase of my life in Canada - around 12 years back, my annual family income was around 25k and I was able to save around 3k. Now, it is over 100 k and my savings are around 25k. This 25K includes my contribution in mortgage and RRSP.
