Hi
I have a Bachelor of Administration Degree from Narsee Monjee Institute Of Management Studies and i wanted to know if this could qualify as a degree requirment for a CGA certificate.
Also i read somewhere that if u r an Indian student then you have to give all the exams ....i wanted to know how much time could that take??
Inorder to get a CGA certificate you need to have a job therefore self study is required to give the exams or you can study from a university or you have to study from a university??
I am planning to cover a diploma course in accounting in canada so that I can qualify till level 3. Then how much time will it take??
Is it easy for a fresher to get a job in canada in an accounting feild with just a indian degree and a diploma course??
I also have the option to do a diploma course in finance from canada .....would that be a better choice?
please help ....

There is a gross misconception among many newcomers that you need to complete all CGA courses before applying for entry level accounting jobs.
Three years of progressive accounting experience (including one year in a senior level in Canada) is required for the CGA designation.
Start applying for bookkeeping, AR/AP clerk positions once you are done with level 3.
If you are a level 4 student and still can't find an entry level relevant job, then you must assess the reasons (lack of experience, weak communication skills, etc.), taking more CGA courses at this stage will not help overcome these issues.
Same goes for CMA.
CGA alone can determine if your degree is recognized upon completing the evaluation assessment.

Hi
thank you soo much for ur answers.....
umm ....one more question ...how does one go abt umm ...studying for this certificate...
i mean are there organisations opened up that teach u CGA subjects n then u go to specific places to give the exams....or is all up to you and self study...
Thank you
You can directly contact CGA for this and I agree with Voltrex... those are the other major components which play very vital role in getting a job even after you have CGA or CMA.....
Hope it helps.
