Did a quick search but didn't find what I am looking for. Is there any guide or website which gives me the details/basics of Mortgage. It's about time to buy our first home so I want to get some basic knowledge of mortgage before I jump into the market.

Get in touch with Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, based in Ottawa.Their contact number is 1-866-461-3222. They have excellent publications on Mortgages( I recommend 'The ABCs of Mortgages').

Any one buying a new home ....this info can get u some dollars back in your pocket if u r knowledgeable & guided .

There are very good programs & rebates from Government agency for the energy efficient homes. u should look into getting rebates & call your local licesed guy & ask the questions how much rebate u can get.
