"On the whole, PEEPLI [LIVE] is sure to ride initially on the strength and credibility of its iconic actor/producer Aamir Khan and once that is achieved, the powerful content is sure to speak for itself. PEEPLI [LIVE] is a film that would not only appeal to Indians, but is sure to reach out to audiences beyond India. Simply brilliant! "

I am also eager to watch this movie. Few songs that Pinki has played on 101.3 FM are AWESOME. Hope I am not disappointed.

"Pahle tagde-tagde the abb sukh ke kanta ho gaye saiyan- Mahgayee ki maar me guian margille se ho gaye saiyan"
Finally watched the movie
A hard hitting satire on Indian political system, bureaucracy and media. It would be difficult to classify this movie as a pure comedy. Although poking fun at the problems of village farmers, it has its genuine touching and tragic moments. The story revolves around a farmer, who is unable to pay his debt and is about to lose his land to the banks. A local politician jokingly advises him to commit suicide as government pays money to the family of farmers who commit suicide. The frenzy that follows forms the crux of the movie.
The absence of any star power works strongly in favour of movie. The director is able to capture the nuances of daily life in rural India. The movie is neither a tear-jerker like "Mother India" or similar movies in its genre, nor does it follow a path like "Pather Panchali". The characters do not wallow in self-pity, neither do they dream of becoming rich. They are content living their daily life trying to resolve their day-to-day issues.
This is not a family movie due to language used by the characters. The swear words have been translated verbatim into English. So if you take your kids to the movie, be ready to explain the meaning of the word like "m*@#$%f&^#$%*" or "a***" to your kid.
