Generally speaking , can they fire you after completing probation , on grounds of taking leave for exigent circumstances ?

I wud also agree with Dimple, that is the time to disclose your vacations scheduled and many many people have their vacations scheduled (though for 2 weeks)...agreed this thought had not crossed u, but y cant u consider it now ? i wud not suggest option a or b. just my opinion...
