Hi,

Is there a site or forum where I can get information on issues related to inheritance and distribution of assets among sons /daughters in an Indian family?

Thanks,

MG.

I might get too personal. But it all depends upon the religion that your Parents and you all followed. Plus, is the property currently stands undivided. Is there a will or is it intestate? Also the ruling is slightly different from one state to the next.

I picked up a very good book while I was there in Bangalore, from a book store. The cost of the book was about Rs.700/+- and it has all of the latest legal write up based upon the religious beliefs of the past decades. But one thing is good. The playing field has been leveled for the sexes*. (The book is in circulation and will return in July or earlier, will give you all of the details on it later) {*Act 2005}

It is too much to write here, as it is of interest to only one person. I would advice you to read on the subject matter on the Web with your own searches and when you are ready, see a lawyer next door to where your property is based.

Freddie.

I have read all of these before posting it to you.
