All,
I plan to land in Calgary in May, wait & collect my PR card, and then return to US for time being. My question to people who have done the same is, "Did you move all your stuff to canada and back to US to convince immigration officials?". Is it okay if I tell him that I plan to stay for a month, then go to US and come back in 6 months to Canada for good?
I will be working in Canada for that 1 month. Is it okay for me to give my office address for PR card, or is a residential address required? Any suggestion is appreciated.
Regards.
You want suggestions to cheat the system???

Serious replies only please! Its a very important issue.

Per current Canadian PR rule you have every right to stay out of Canada for 3 year in every five year period of time
So you can always tell immigration officer that you will stay in Canada for 1-2 months, will collect your PR card and complete other formalities and return back to USA..will move back permanently within 1 year or so after completion of your project /work in USA
To get the PR card you need to give an address in Canada and make the point very clear to immigration officer that you will wait until you are receiving your PR card...otherwise immigration might deny you to apply for PR card if you don't give them a specific address in Canada
thanks
N.B I also did the same thing came to apply for PR card and then returned back to USA within 1 week time and permanently moved toCanada after 4 months
