How is Kitchener compared to Toronto in terms of job prospects, schools, desi culture, public transport (if any) and day to day life? looking for some feedbacks..Thank you

Definitely less Indians than GTA and around 3-4 Indian grocery stores in Kitchener Waterloo. About jobs, I would say it is better to relocate only when you get a job. Quite a few IT companies here if you are in that field. Public transport is there (www.grt.ca) but you cannot beat TTC. About schools, you can see Fraser Institute's website.

Thank you for quick response Raj. Somehow I always feel that Kitchener has more jobs than Toronto while looking at various job sites and linkedin etc..and I am not in IT stuff, just looking for engineering role (civil, planning, mechanical, process roles)

Companies should call even for interview even if you live in Toronto. A lot of people do commute from Kitchener to Toronto for work and from Toronto to Kitchener.

And some people even commute more, even within GTA.

My 2 cents. Even after getting job in Kitchener/Waterloo area, please dont move in quickly by buying a house etc rather commute for a few months from GTA till the time you are sure that KW area is what you want to raise children.
