Ask her status in Canada and say you would like to see any document to support it. Police check requires two pieces of ID and will only show if a crime has been committed that is in RCMP's database.

You can ask for references and check them.

if the person is on a visit/tourist visa,they cannot work legally. So any search on their background through official channels becomes moot.

I have retained copies of 2 pieces of id .. passport & licence .... We will experiment with her for some time ...
