For quite some time, Fraser Health in Vancouver and various locations in British Columbia and David Thompson in Red Deer, Alberta has been looking for medical transcriptionists as I see on workopolis.

Toronto has too much competition I believe.

Few more of my friends who used to work in field of medical transcription have landed in Toronto. I had a couple more contact me regarding job search in transcription field though I am not currently working in this field, again living in/around Toronto!

One employer told me they recieved 70+ resumes for one small ad in Toronto Star for medical transcriptionist/quality analyst. For a relatively unknown field in general terms, it seems strange that there are that many people looking to work in this field!
