As Portfolio Assistant your role is to assist portfolio managers and research analysts in achieving their goals by providing them with administrative assistance in all facets of their day-to-day activities.
Your responsibilities include:
Assist in assembling various reports and correspondence using a variety of computer systems
Maintaining and updating schedules, travel arrangements and client meeting preparation materials
Calculate and input daily trades using Charles River System and following through with the compliance group, etc.
Download information from Database into Excel and create pivot tables and various reports
Prepare Excel spreadsheets on account holdings and research projects
Assist Portfolio Managers and analysts in building research models / reports and maintaining that their numbers are up-to-date on the database
Special projects and duties as assigned
As the qualified candidate you possess:
University degree in a finance related field and/or comparable business experience.
Canadian securities course
Strong organizational and communication skills
Excellent Excel and word processing skills
General understanding of banking/finance/securities industries.
Must be flexible with ability to prioritize diversified assignments.
Team player essential.
Ability to learn and use a variety of computer systems used by research to extract information
