Hello all,
I need to give power of attorney to someone in India, mainly for buying/selling real estate. Could someone please tell me how to go about it.
Thanks

I did this while in US.
- Get the document prepared by your lawyer.
- Take it to the Notary, sign it in his / her presence.
- Get it signed / stamped from Notary.
- Send it to India by post (not through your friend), the registrar needs the envelope.
This is what I did before and is what I am going to do.

Thanks JRF. What about getting it attested at the Indian embassy?

Thanks paramhams,
I found a couple different copies. Both are slightly different. One sample requires signature of the person getting the POA. The other format doesn't. It is confusing and I am wondering about the importance of that.
And when does the person getting the POA get to sign it? Is that the step at the sub-registrar?
Thanks again, for all your help
