Hi folks.
I am a Canadian citizen, currently residing in California, US on a green card status. I am required to include an attested copy of my Canadian Passport for a PAN card application, for some real estate purpose in India.
The Consulate General in San Francisco website says I have to first get my passport copy attested by the issuing country, which is Canada in my case. So, do I have to send it to the Canadian Consulate in LA? Is there a procedure to follow for this?
If someone has gone through it, could you kindly guide me as to how to get it done?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thank you.
P.S. I hope this is the right place to post this. If not, could someone guide me to the right forum? Thanks.
A few of my friends who are Citizens of USA, get all or most of their COPIES of their required documents attested by their BANK Managers. I was given to understand that they do it for FREE.
There may be other notaries who do the same for you.
I hope this answers your question as regards attestation of a COPY. All it is that they say is, it is a TRUE COPY of the Original. That is all.
Freddie.
