Hi,
I am new to this forum and would really appreciate help from the folks here.
I had recently applied for an OCI for myself and my son through the VFS center in Toronto. At that time, I had submitted my original Canadian passport together with a ton of other original documentation.
I have an emergency and need to travel to the US. I am trying to get hold of the VFS center and the Indian consulate to see if I can get my passport back. The phone line is always busy at the VFS center and nobody responds to emails. I emailed the Indian consulate and no response from them yet.
Can anybody provide some guidance on how I can approach the Indian consulate?

If you are within reasonable driving distance to the consulate, why don't you try visiting the consulate and explain the situation and see if you can get the passport back? From my experience, it's almost a month since I submitted my originals and haven't seen them back.

Thanks dimple2001. That seemed to work. I emailed the consulate and they responded in two hours. I was able to pick up the passport at the VFS office yesterday evening.
