What is the salary you would consider MINIMUM for a family of 3 (Dad / Mom / 2 yr old kid ) to live in GTA?

Assume Rental apartment (decent!!!!! No cockroaches!!)
whether Mississauga / Toronto /North York / Scarborough ??? (Assume Dad working in Toronto)

An extremely vague question!

Unless one knows what one's lifestyle is how can one comment. I know people for whom $1500 would be minimum and at the same time some families for whom anything less than 6-7 grand a month is not enough reason to live in Canada!

However, if one gives his present position in terms of present salary, type of residence, country/city where he lives at present and at what position is he working now, and MOST OF ALL, what compromises is one ready to make (since you are talking about MINIMUM) someone could perhaps give you an idea to translate similar thing in GTA.

I do not think that earning $8/hr gets you monthly salary of $1200 after tax, it should be around $1075 or so(40 hours per week x 4).
