Regards,

Thanks Amit,
I have reviewed the topic on your website. The realtor called me about some subsidy available based on your income. I faintly recall the sales pitch I heard some 2 years ago, but the criteria were so much crooked, I wasnt sure if anyone qualified. I just dont recall the calculation at this moment. It is available for some province sponsored homes reserved for economically weak.
If you or any realtors have knowledge about this scheme, it might help the other lower income CDs.

Hi Hiren,

This is a scheme many mortgage brokers/financial advisors use. The way it is written is a marketing 'gimmick'.
Notice the statement you must have RRSP room.
This basically means if you have $25,000 and your spouse has $25,000, that is a total of $50,000. If you put that in an RRSP and you are in the 31.15% tax bracket (salary from approx $37,000- $78,000) you get approx $$15,000 back from govt in tax refunds. If you are in the highest tax bracket say 46% then you get slightly less than $25,000.

And voila, you have the govt paying for your down payment. You can take out the $50,000 as well to use as down payment w/o interest and tax free.

So like you can have upto $75,000 for down payment.( all aprox figures)

If you don't have the $50,000 then take an RRSP loan and pay it off in 10 years.

Anyway, if you want more info, please call me at 416-902-3580. I do such deals like ad infinitum ( to borrow from Nostradamus :) ) so to speak.

Not really a big deal. I have given you the maximum picture like they will at the symposium, though in reality the numbers are much less, but good for down payment and closing costs.

I have just glossed over the details, but I can always explain in further detail should you so desire.

So like are you gonna be at the green energy event where Tulsi Tanti will be the guest of honor from Apr 15-17? Just asking since you volunteered for CIF at the Mumbai massacre memorial at the Intl centre and CIF is hosting this event.
Tulsibhai is boss of Suzlon Energy- providing clean and green energy and is known as the "Green Giant" also having made a lot of greenbacks from green energy and I am told he is a vegetarian - so like he eats "green" as well.

Check you out should you be there.

Thanks Investpro for the explanation.

But there was another catch which I dont recollect very well - meaning the max income who can qualify for a GRANT (not tax refund). But if you are below the max, you cannot get the full grant, only partial. Anyways, I will see if I can attend this seminar and recollect the route.

No, I will not be at Tulsi Tanti event since I am in Ottawa for a trade fair on those days. But will be interested to know if you do visit.

I will keep your number handy, for future.:)

Hi Hiren,
Not sure what you are referring to.Maybe the sales pitch 2 years ago .

However I am referring to the link you have provided. It is a registration form for a seminar and there is no reference to a grant, only a plan.
Your opening line says "grant" in your original post.
Can you please pinpoint where the word "grant" appears in the link you have provided.

Nonetheless, please do go to the seminar and tell us if if the contents are any diff from the nutshell I have provided.
I also gave the same line to someone who was going to buy a home on CD.

The entrance for the canindia energy summit is $750, so I won't be attending, nor have I been given an assignment to cover it enabling a press pass.
