What Dharmesh said was very responsible. Try to keep a low profile by saving and not making any rash monetary decisions. Desi's in NA are a very small population and hence our prudence will not affect anything...

Come on man...so what if someone has beer and goes to a cottage and plays games...what does that make them? Just what makes you say these things? I am curious - what do you do with your life?

If North Americans do not maintain their spending habits, we wouldn't be living the life what we have today, even India wouldn't have got a life of what it has now.
Its the spending.. spending, spending that keeps the economy moving else it would be brought to a grinding halt leaving many jobless.
I see the Old Indian style economy is a big threat to the modern economy where the money is stashed under mattress, gold etc.., etc.,.
And you are completely out of touch with Dubai, other than me rest of my family is living there and I know what does Quality of life mean there.. You can not match what you get here with Dubai. Not even in fraction.
At the same time, I acknowledge the point that this being the trouble time, loans and extremely lavish spending has to be trimmed, but if you could axe everything, some one will axe your job too.

Dubai is doing quite well for your information. Salaries are high and the standard of living is far better that what it is in Canada for educated professionals...
