HI Everyone

I am new immigrant form India. I came here in July 08. I did my MBA in Marketing.
I was working in India as sales manager for IT product. Having around 5 years of experience in sales management and has basic knowledge of SAP SD module. . I want to take SAP training in Mississauga area. Please suggest me the best institute in this area and also advise me apart from SD module which other module will suite with my education and experience.

Your advice will be great help for me

Thanks in advance.

I would suggest that you bring with you all of the course details (Curriculum) and meet with the Guidance Councilor of the International Immigrant section and explain to him fully what your occupation is and what it is that you should do here to be able to market your skills. (This is at the Sheridan: )

Take any post or position that they will get you into and see how long you will have to work with them to find a suitable post with corresponding salary. It might be some time before you will find one. And when you find it, it may make you a traveling trouble shooter, for that you may have to work a couple of years here under one employer.

Here is some useful information. Most of these institutions are in Mississauga. Regardless, go to a place where you will find some one who can get you into the current " Three Dimensional Integration" as it is currently called.

Before you enter and enroll into any course, please make sure that that is the field in which there is employment for you and they are looking for people immediately after completion of the course.

Also go to the Guidance Councilor and get some input from him. They are there for you, to guide you in you career and in your future. So, do not skip these steps and jump into some thing head long.

Also meet with manpower placements center run by Government of Canada and obtain the list of openings from them. They have a huge data bank and some might have inside information and forecasts too.

Most of the courses might last eight to ten months and would cost you a lot. Around 10 grand. If they have a placement after completion, it will be a bonus. You can pick all of the materials about these institutions at the library and they are free. Please ask the librarians for their availability prior to visit. Also call them or e-mail them for the same. They will oblige.

Good Luck.

Freddie.

Yeah. It is sales and distribution module in SAP. As per my view there is demand in the market of this module.

Please provide me the link of Guidance Councilor and manpower placement centre run by government of Canada in Mississauga area so I can go to them for further input.

Also I am talking to some of institute who provide the coaching of SAP they usually charge per module $1700-$2000.

Is this reasonable fee??

thank you

Here are some of the links that might come handy. Use them carefully.

I did pick a Sheridan College guide book. They have open houses in January of the next. (2009) See Link. They have no SAP courses to offer. So, you are better off with the location that you have priced. But make sure there are placement services assistance after the completion. Otherwise, you will be back to square one.

Here is the Government of Canada HRSDC contact details.

http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/en/common/contactus/index.shtml

1-800-OCANADA 1-800-622-6232

Call and find out if there is a location near you. Also meet with them if one of their representatives is free to help you while you are there. They have evaluation centers there to give you a standing in your profession and what else is needed to bring your qualifications upto PAR with Canadian standards.

Also meet with the Burnhamthorpe Immigrant Center Officials, one Mr.P.Kalra, who posts here about their free assistance to all of the new arrivals. They are of great assistance to one and all and since you have myriad of questions, have them handy and written, when you approach that location.

Good Luck.

Freddie.

Here is a career fair Held in Waterloo Ontario tomorrow, as posted by another CD, lak_canada. You can explore the web site and see if there is any of the participants that are offering a post for a new comer. 300 of them there to meet and get an idea about what the current job markets are!. The Government booth will be there too. Might cost a few bucks, but will give you a break. See if there are buses or Go system to take you right to their door.
