Most of the times, I have to use my Credit Card for US dollars in other countries. Any suggestion for a good credit card handeling US currency; so as to avoid about 4-5 %, I pay now in service fee and exchange rate.

So which credit card would be the best credit card with zero annual fee and with max. cash back?

Mastercard from President's Choice - http://www.pcmastercard.pcfinancial.ca/ROCEN/index.htm

In case you decide to go with them, do read the details on the rewards program/ fees, etc. Also from time to time they have representatives at their various stores (Loblaws, No Frills, etc.) where you can apply for the credit card in-store and get about 20,000 free points (equivalent to 20$).

Note - The cash-back is in form of cash points that you can redeem only at Loblaw company groceries (No Frills, Loblaws, Valumart, etc.)

In my very very humble opinion, NO credit card is the BEST credit card. Why go for debt. Use debit. Interac is everywhere. Unfortunately, I have old school thoughts that say no to debt - but they work for me. :)

Credit card is the best way to establish your credit record. As long as you pay off your balance in full every month, you should be okay. Also, I don't mind getting a few perks with the convenience of not carrying cash around and borrowing money interest free for a month ;)

In my opinion, it's better to get a card with no annual fee and the best one out there is PC Financial mastercard if you shop at Loblaws. 1% cashback in form of PC points that can be redeemed at any Loblaws stores.

Citi Mastercard (Get cash 1% back at the end of year). Also, much better service than PC in my personal opinion.

You are right in that sense.

There is another huge advantage for the consumer by using credit cards for payments - Credit card transactions are reversable if you have to disagree with a merchant. You are protected by the card company. For Debit, once the transaction has been made, you are left at the mercy of the merchant.

I have used credit cards since 1997 - never paid a single dollar in annual fees or interest charges
