Yes all school boards have issues like in other country. However not targeted towards any newcomers. In fact they are very welcome. School will provide all possible support for your child to be successful.

Nobody answered your Question Number 2.
This is only for elementary and middle school.
Everybody gets into high school in Catholic school. The only problem is the dress code and as a desi will you let your teenage daughter to wear the short skirt with the fish net stockings.
If you do not understand just imagine your daughter wearing this dress and standing in a busstop.
You know what I mean?.
They will not say no to you when you go and ask for admission in a Catholic school.
They will just ask you if you have the baptism certificate.
If you say no, then they will respond that if you have one we can provide you with admission.
If you ask them how can I get a baptism certificate then they will give you direction to the nearest parish.
This happened to me and hence I can RANT as much possible at this hypocrisy.
You could go to a local church in India and talk to the Father who will be most willing to meet you, baptize you and provide you with a baptism certificate.
You could bring it to Toronto and obtain admission in the Catholic school for elementary level education for your kids.

The concept: The kids will have to be Majors, which is 18 in most places, when they finish their schooling, which is Grade 12. So, they enter Grade 1 at the age of 6. if they have completed SIX years before the end of the year, which is 31st of December. Smart kids excepted.
