I am not from Gujrat, never been there, and do not know the situations that prevail there. However, I do believe one thing - there must be something great in this man, due to which he comes to power and has a support of a majority of the state population. Regardless of what media portrays, and the ghosts of the riots, he still wins - not by sheer luck or with the help of goons/goondas, but with votes.

Last I heard, he's also got a support from the educated muslims in the state due to the development and progress.

Media has this (bad) habit of haunting that would never go. Only if they kept haunting the Congress leaders for 1984 sikh riots. It simply shows their dualistic approach and varied contradictions. It has become a fashion to blame Modi for everything that happened in Gujrat a few years ago.

I am happy that Modi won, but sadly BJP doesn't have any plans for him at the national level.

Oh yeah... The "Communal" Himachal pradeshi's also elect the BJP... now what will happen to the "Secular" parties ?
