Hi CDs
One of my friends in India has been approached by Microintellects group http://www.microintellects.com/contactus.html from Toronto for a consultants position on work permit. Would like to know any comments/feedbacks from any CDs having had any dealings with them.
Any feedback - positive or negative is welcome. If there is anything you cannot post in public, please feel free to PM.
On a related note, for indian IT professionals coming on work permit, do you need to pay for the paper work /lawyers fees in canada to arrange the permit? or is it paid for by the employer?
He has to reply by end of next week, so any replies before that will be highly appreciated.

I donot know about that company but in General IT people who are sponsered for work permit DONOT need top pay for anything (this is based on another company which does this and it not that good a company). The sponsers pay also for the ticket to Toronto and they have vacation every year for which the employee is supposed to pay for his fare to india (if he goes to India). At the end of the contract they will give you a return flight ticket to India.
Most of them donot pay anything for the spouse. They will give letter for the spouse open work permit but all the paper work / fees / time will have to be borne by the employee to get the spouse open work permit.
ALso they give free bachelor status accomodation for a month after which you will have to leave their guest house.
The company that I am talking to you pays 55K for a developer / programmer.
