I was wondering if some fellow desis could give their feedback on how long approximately it would take to prepare (no question dumps etc) for the CSC?
Especially for someone from a completely non-finance background (I'm in IT)?
Assuming I put in an hour or two a day can I get through the material and be well prepared in 1.5 - 2 months?
If you study for 1.5 to 2 hours a day 2 months may not be enough for both the exams. If you put in about 3 -4 hours a day 2 months is enough. This is considering you do not have a finance background.
I wonder why would you want to do CSC of you have a IT background. If you are working for a financial institution and is a part of their job profile then it is fine. If you considering a career in finance with CSC you are looking at entry level jobs with CSC. Buy going back to my earlier point many large financial institutions require CSC as a 'Good to have' even of you want to get into the IT department, but may also require some experience in the financial side, but again that entirely depends on the IT project.

Thanks for the reply and giving me those approximate timelines.
I wanted to get an idea of the effort required to get this certification, and then evaluate whether it would be an advantage in my field since I am working for a financial services shop, in the IT dept.
