Apply on your own for immigration.
Pleae spend your money to improve you North American accent English, computer MS office and typing speed .
Spend more time on internet to know about Canada, job market while your are in u r country .
Apply for for all family members, reach alone Canada on receipt of visa. Call your family with a gap nt less than 2 months based on visa time.

This course is a farce on the landed immigrants. During the ERC you would be introduced to their own agents who book you for the driving classes, sell you health insurance for first three months period, introduce you to RESP etc. They try to squeeze out of you as much as possible before tossing you into the labour market. I have never seen any thing like GPS exixting in the office in mississaugsa.
Regarding the software/hardware job market less said is better.
I am not a software Engineer but my wife is one. I have landed in a respectable job, i think because I am not a software Engineer.
I have faced the antipathy of of the recruiters and the employers and continue to face. The anipathy is in the form of negilgence. You may not even qualify for a regret letter for having attended the interview at your expense and effort. Unlike India you will not be reimbursed for the expenses that may occur because of the interview. My wife who landed 10 months behind me is facing the same situation. She had interview with three firms but none has the generosity of sending a regret letter.
Hence FRIEND Donot expect any thing great either from the or from the SW market.

During ERC, they insist to come to Alberta. They said that we have office in Edmonton. Yes, it was but not now. I am in Edmonton since 1 year and I never heard that any client has got job thru gps. Here many odd jobs are available (like 7-Elever, Tim Hortins ,factories etc.)
and people never wait till gps will find job for him/her. They starts odd jobs anyhow to get survived. And GPS office claimed that we are giving 100% placement. I have list of more than 30 clients, who got job themselves.
The funny things is, gps people are giving address of placement agencies , not address of any company/factory because there is no any colobration with employers.
Never expect any asssistance.

Am perspective migrant to edmonton....almost at the last stages of PR process...
Cann't make any comment @ GPS as still to go through that....but certainly not expecting any thin g from ......Hopefully end up starting some odd jobs.....
Am travelling in July end ...any further golden advise to be given to me by anyone out there?
