The following remarks by Pakistan's Cricket Captain Shoaib Malik at the presentation ceremony after India won the First ever Twenty/20 Wolrd cup are drawing huge crticism world over..
Shoaib Malik "First of all I'd like to thank people back home and the Muslims around the world.
"We gave our 100%, India have a strong batting line-up. We did well to restrict them to less than 160 but our batting didn't come through. The Indians bowled really well and we played some bad shots. That's why we ended up on the losing side in this game."
What do you think ?
IMO, its a kneejerk reaction out of frustration of not beating India. Nothing more to it. Lets put it this way. Pak would not have felt bad if they were beaten blue by Aussies. Here they were beaten by India.
Most of us know the enemity.
DIO
I think it is a case where once again a section of people in Pakistan(in this case that section includes Shoaib Malik) have proved that they cannot think of issues in terms beyond religion.
By him pretty much apologizing to Pakistan and all Muslims around the world for the defeat, he probably expressed what he felt -> as if he was a warrior for Muslims and lost to the infidels.
