What is wrong with the lot of girls in Bangalore? I know women love to talk/chat, but doing this on the cellhpone throughout is insane. College going girls are always on the cellphone. Whom are they talking to and what is the big deal? Any business going on? Boys, OTOH, dont talk much on the mobile as I have observed. Worst, girls talk on the mobile when driving a two wheeler and its not handsfree. Lot of these girls cant standstill/wait for 5 minutes without talking on the phone. IMO, its a mental issue. These girls are not at peace with themselves.

Coming to you OP, looks like the girls in Bangalore now really want to marry a husband who is rich and can take good / comfortable care of them (I assume that that was implied in your post). It all comes as the side effect of a major economic boom.
How are the govt. offices now? Do we still have to bribe to get the work done or are things improving. I have a feeling that with great economic progress, the govt. offices will also start functioning normally without the laziness that was there a decade back.

Yes, the "fees" is the norm. That's the new slang (spin I should say). Things have not changed that much. Media reports that India is changing leaps and bounds. Where? In the mobile and broadband? They are ok. What abt other things?
The attitude, civic sense, etc need to improve a lot. Specifically educated folks need to improve. At least respect the education, degree they obtained,etc.
Corruption wont go away. Better accept and live with it.

Blame it on the economic boom, blame it on parents who think they can reach their girls anytime, blame it on phone companies or blame it on the age,peer pressure anything it is just worse. I believe they can live without an arm not without a cell phone.
When I was teaching at a pre-university college,our management had banned the use of cell phones in campus. Any raids,warnings didnt make much difference. Worst of all we have caught students in public exams cheating.
I have known girls who sent and recieved messages in the class(teachers do have secret agents you know!!) They are so well-worsed that they can type a message while maintaining eye-contact with the teacher. And tell me how I hate the phone language wud, cud.... These reflected on the last minute answers too
