Toronto - A Toronto mother faces charges after five children were apparently left locked in a car at a mall for about 90 minutes yesterday.

A passerby noticed the five young children left alone in the car at a strip mall near Lawrence Avenue and Dufferin Street. The children ranged in age from a six-month-old baby to the oldest child, who was seven. After waiting a short period of time, the passerby called 911.

Mario is a parent of two and lives in the area where the alleged crime took place. He thinks that leaving the children in the car by themselves was "very dangerous."

"She could come out of the supermarket and not see her kids anymore…they could've been all stolen and she would go hysterical probably…that's not right," he said.

All five children are in good health.
