Hi Amit,
Sorry I missed your query. Usually the sound consultants fees are part of the system. There are a few on Dundas (East) near to the Tomken Intersection.
I really thought through your question and I think the following options are available on your budget.I'm basing my suggestions on the things I want in a home theatre and these are follows:
1.I want a very good picture clarity on the monitor.
2.I want small speakers which can be hidden and they do not clutter and occupy space.
3.I do not like to run wires to back surround speakers or do conceal wiring.
4.I need good resale value for my stuff after a few years if I want to sell them.
All my options I would consider either a Sharp Aquos or Samsung 26\\\" or 32\\\" LCD TV as the monitor
and
Based on this and your budget the first choice I have is the following:
http://www.bose.ca/controller?event=VIEW_PRODUCT_PAGE_EVENT&product=ls28_dvd_index
The second option would be to go with a Yamaha Receiver and Bose Surround speakers:
http://www.yamaha.ca/av/Receivers/RXV659B.jsp
http://www.bose.ca/controller?event=VIEW_PRODUCT_PAGE_EVENT&product=am16_surround_index
The third option would be go with a Yamaha Receiver and Yamaha Surround speaker system(Single set of speakers-Wall mountable)
http://www.yamaha.ca/av/Receivers/RXN600B.jsp
http://www.yamaha.ca/av/YSP/YSP800.jsp and you can add a subwoofer to the system.
The third option is very new and hence needs to be checked out for actual performance at your home.
The fourth option which I would like to suggest and this is the way it is going to be in future and your children will love it:
In this option your main part of the system is a XBOX 360 or Sony PS III and you can get networking by using a gaming router. The XBOX and PS III have powerful DVD players and you can play your movies on it. You could get good quality surround speakers (Multi Media speakers) from any computer shop like Tiger Direct(Heartland Mall or at Sherway Garder near HWY 427) or Bose Multimedia surround speakers http://www.bose.ca/controller?event=VIEW_PRODUCT_PAGE_EVENT&product=companion5_multimedia_index.
By using the gaming router you can use your desktop PC and stream music, movies from the internet and use the windows media player and play it on the TV. You can watch a movie and also work on the internet using this system. Thirdly you can use the DVD player which is Blue ray in PS III and play all types of DVDs and CD's. But the most important thing is that your children can play awesome games on this system with surround sound and you can play the DVD if they let you on the system.
The fourth option is the way the world is going. If you go with any of the first three options you would need to set up this system shortly or you would need to scrap your old system and go with the fourth system. The fourth route is a cost effective route and also a family media center/game center/home theater.
For the first three option I would suggest the following place as you can get better prices/service and technical support & check this place out before making any purchasing decision. They carry Nakamichi & NAD which are high end brands:

PS: Please get rid of that Dodge Caravan and get a BMW X5 Boss !, Just kidding !.
Good Luck and Happy Holidays !

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....
"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"
Shankar,
Thank You very much. Your advise is very useful.
I agree that Option 4 is the best and designed with the future in mind. Especially, when builders these days make shoe-size condo apartments. And all those young professionals who mostly live in these condos, can enjoy movies or work from their homes; via the same system. Many people might not prefer to leave their apartments in their PJs in order to see a movie in their condominium amenities's home theatre room.
In my case, the basement has been specifically designed for home theatre only. Since I am not a video games fan, I will study the top 3 options, compare costs and value and then invest in one of your recommended solutions.
Cheers,

The 32" Aquos model currently sold in FS, 40U, I think, has had issues reported. They were manufactured in China. Previous models were made in Japan.
There is a later model that I've seen sold in the US that apparently does not have these problems.
On a side note, I don't see why people make the huge fuss about Bose. They are mid-end at best....is that a word? You talk about Monitor, NAD, Paradigm, Wharfedale - now that is quality. And they have speakers starting at the lower end too.
I love this anecdote a friend of mine told me: He walked into a high end audio store and asked to see some Bose systems. The salesman's answer - I'm sorry sir, we don't carry them. You might want to check out Circuit City.
Finally I assembled my home theater system. As of now I bought the following components:
7.1 Channel HDMI Digital receiver : Yamaha HTR-6090
Front Speaker : Polkaudio RTi8
Rear Speaker : Polkaudio FXi3
Center Speaker : CSi3
Subwoofer : Velodyne VX-10
As not many DVDs are available in 6.1 or 7.1 system so I think 5.1 setup will do just fine at this time.
I will add the DLP/LCD projector later on.
Just wanted to share this information with CDs and once again thanks to everyone for helping me out with the knowledge of the home theater system.
