It takes time to settle, most important is contacts who can help you move around. After being in Canada for 13 years, yes I make 70K + with Union and one of the best places in the world ( Vancouver )
I went to India after 10 years ( Mumbai ), I couldn't stand it - forget anything - just the heat got to me and it ain't cheap to live there

Good decision by Nishit.
However UK is a different ball game altogether.
When I was in UK in 2010, these were my observations :
1. For the same professions, people can get CAD 35,000 - 40,000 where as in UK, it was GBP-15,600 .
2. Cost of living was same as in Canada in mumbers. For example, a bread in Canada for $ 1 cost GBP 1 in London or a MickyD burger ar CAD 2.99 was GBP 3.19 in LOndon.
3. Rent was almost the same in mumbers (CAD 800 / month to GBP 500 / month). Houses were very run down in London.
4. However job market was very robust in London and every one looking for a job could easily get a job. In Canada, it is very hard to get a job esp. after the 2009 recession !
Peace

No wonder Britishers are immigrating to Vancouver, Australia, and NZ in droves. All British people that I talked to in my office told me it's the deteriorating quality of life and high expenses that led them to fled Britain.
