I am sure most of you have problems when you buy calling cards to call India or international. Most cards these days come with 'no connection fee'. Do they give you the actual minutes for the $ amount ????
The other day i bought a card called 'BELAIR' by 'basetelecom'
The $5 card said 35 minutes when i dialed a home number in Dubai.
After 7 minutes i got a message saying 'you have one minute left'
I tried to call the customer service. The number is a long distance and when you get through you get a message saying 'mailbox full'
Is there a better calling company ? It will save lots of aggravation and time that we spend not getting through or bad connection.
Any canadian desi willing to contribute your experience ?

i have the same experience that the rate they offer does not match with the actual minutes you get to talk. this is frustrating to call the customer service and most of them have no one to answer.

recently a friend suggested http://www.lotsofminutes.com
they have tel3 flex plan which charges only for the minutes you talk to and their online statement helps you to verify this.

i also got $7.25 free on sign up. i use it to call US/Canada too at cheap rates.

india is like 6-15 cents depending on where you are calling and the great news is no extra fees verified by online statement.

i checked the rates for UAE for you its 22 cents/min.
hope this helps.

cheerios

Do these guys charge add tax on it ?
I am asking because relianceindiacall is charging 13.9 c + tax which is pretty much good.

It is a US site with no separate website for Canada. So all the rates should be in USD. Credit cards do not give the best exchange rates for currency conversion.

Hi friends

I find a calling card NEW TIME very reliable. $5 card cost $4 and gives about 39 mins for India. A general rule which applies to all calling card is that the talk time reduces automatically if one uses it more than once and reduces aprreciably if the intreval between calls is more.
