The director associated with movies like "Anadi", "Anand", "Abhimaan", "Golmaal", "Khoobsurat" - to name a few, is no more. The best thing about Hrishikesh Mukherjee's movies was his unique theme in movies like Namak Haraam, Guddi or Abhimaan or lighthearted movies like Golmaal, Naram Garam, Khoobsurat and Rang Birangi. A director who could make the movies for "masses and classes" - a directory who could provide excellent humour without degenerating into the traps of off-coloured humour.
May his sould rest in peace
Meghal
Yes Meghal, he was simply great.
I particularly liked 'Bemisaal' with Amitabh in double role of 'sudhir & adhir roy'...and then 'Anand' was a masterpiece..also he directed Dharmendra brilliantly in 'Satyakam' which no one ever had.
May his soul rest in peace.

"We do not stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing".
What made him different from all other Good Directors is his range...
The themes of his movies were uniquely different.
From Infatuation in Guddi , Language prank in Chupke Chupke, Superstition in Golmal, Life-threatening Cancer in Anand, Family-bond in Bavarchi, Male Ego in Abhiman, 'Women's lib' in Anupama, Integrity in Namak Haram, etc.
