Hi CD members,
How much does a lawyer normally charge to complete closing formalities of buying a house? . Hiring a lawyer means he will complete all legal requirements to buy a house? or do we have to pay for all the work seperately? like title search etc, can any real estate expert share their 2 cents.

Since you have not mentioned your location, I am assuming that you are in Ontario.
The lawyer would take care of all the legal requirements and closing formalities and you will pay his/her total fees which could be any where between $1050 to $1250 depending on the lawyer. This fees does not include land transfer tax which you may (or may not if you are first time new home buyer) have to pay separately to the lawyer if you are buying a resale home.
