Don't worry you did the right thing. 10-15 years from now most of the immigrants here will send their kids back to India cuz most the jobs will be there.

Is that what life is all about... JOBS ????
I wonder.......

No life isn't ONLY about jobs. THere is something called quality of life too. But quality of life and everything else follows from a well paying job or career. Anyway, the topic of this thread is different from what we are discussing. Let's not hijack this thread.

That's precisely my point.
everyone seems to associate it with a "job".
it is not unrelated to this thread as everyone who seems to be not satisfied with Canada and everything that is associated with it has the an underlying problem in their subconscious...a JOB !!!
all the other bitching that is related to Canada seems to almost stem from the lack of a "decent" job.
how many "complainers" have we come across who seem to have a "well-paying" job ???
the ones who we DO come across point out the negative aspects of the Canadian systems in a subtle way, and try to figure out what can be done to improve it.

On the other hand, the "mainstream complainers" do not offer any kind of a solution to anything but just seem to get a big O by companing about how they have been "pushed into" something totally inhuman.
They portray it as if they have been totally "duped" into it (true, to an extent).

The end result- a workforce that is just that, a workforce.
And it only compounds the problem, coz a majority of these "Canadian residents/citizens" are only contributing to the "development of Canada" in a limited way, by doing their 9-5 jobs.

Coming back to the ones who are "victimised" by the system and the people here, how about we ask ourselves a simple question- Why ???
AS WE ALL CLAIM, we are very well qualified, skilled, with a lot of experience, etc. Then what is stopping "us" ???
the system ? the "goras" (as they have been referred to) ?? the lack of etiquette ?? the limited knowledge of hockey ?? or something else ?

how about we look at the entire scenario using a different prism ?
how about we realise the fact that there is a huge section of the "gora" population out there which is just as desperate as "us" to land themselves a job ???
IF "we" have been duped, is it supposed to teach us a lesson ?
If yes, what ? (If no, we deserve to keep doing whatever we are doing till we begin to learn from our mistakes).
Can't "we" capitalise on the vulnerability of the "goras" ???
True, there are rules in place which may be "hurdles" for "us".
But aren't all rules supposed to have loopholes ? And do we not come from a land where the primary necessity for survival is the abiltiy and the tact in bending the rules ????

(nothing here reflects my feelings for or against Canada or India, its just an objective opinion)

If it's too good to be true .. It probably is!!

Looked at the list of restricted occupations in the CIC list of occupations for skilled worker immigration. There were none!!

CIC should be insane to think there is demand for all occupations Canada. Wish it was true.

I am in IT so I don't have any problem. It breaks my heart to see so many immigrants work in fields other than what they studied or had years of experience. What a colossal waste of immigrant talent.

Sagar,

Excellent post ! You have summed up the whole situation beautifully. All immigrants to Canada land up with a lot of dreams. On the Job front, its a survival of the fittest and the smartest. Knowledge, experience, ettiquette, Formal Dress Code, good resume and of course absolute self confidence are traits which differentiate winners from the losers.

If the going is tough for an Indian who has landed in Canada, it must be equally tough for a Pakistani, a Mexican, a Filipino, a Chinese and any other human being landing up in a new country / Culture.

Cheers,

Ayaskant.

Success

To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded. Bessie Stanley
