I am currently living in Brampton near City Center for the past 3 weeks. I am doing temporary job in Mississauga (Derry and Kennedy) though an agency in Mississauga. I change 2 buses and total travel time is about 22 minutes (it is about 1-1/4 hours if you include the time I leave for factory and waiting for bus). I tried 3 different employment agencies in Brampton but had no response from them.
I just want to know would it be a better option to move to Mississauga?

Well, I live in Mississauga near the Square One area and I love it here. Besides being one of the safest town in Canada, its also quite clean and well maintained. Generally speaking, public transportation is very good and around where I live, you can pretty much find everything you need within a 1 or 2 km radius. Works great if you don't have a car.
But I also work in Miss. so my commute is less than 10 mins and therein lies the true appeal. I guess if I worked in say Markham or Scarborough, I may think about moving.
So it all depends on your job. If you feel this is a long term job, then I think its a good idea. Don't know if you have kids or not, otherwise their schools and stuff might also be an issue.

Are you there?
hey Raj,
When I was in TO (and did not have a car) and job hunting I always made sure I was close to the subway. I found that this eliminates the need to catch a bus to the subway and saves some time and discomfort especially in the winter.Actually I used to live in Etobicoke next to the subway. That used to be quite a nice area 5-6 yrs ago. The advantage was that I had access to the city transit ( TTC) and also to the Mississauga busses which started from the Etobicoke subway (at least they used to). I could then look for jobs in either of the cities. Found the whole thing rather convenient compared to staying in Scarborough (where I stayed when I arrived in canada). Dont know if acess to public transportation is your only priority but I thought this may help someone who is reading.
BTW: the place where i was staying was 50 cordova (walk 2-3 mts across the parking lot and you are in the subway)
